After the first week of practice we have 96 swimmers who are practicing or committed to start practice.

We need to fill out forms in a timely manner. Please check the Roster Listings to see what forms you need to be turned in.

Please check out the Meet Sign-up list to make sure you are signed for the meets you want to participate in. Remember all swimmers participate in the

Finish with Relays all free - 8&U do 100. All other ages groups do 200

Congratulations to all the MTV participants in the Indiana State Senior Meet and the State Age Group Meet.

In the State Senior Meet Michea Reinitz
was a top 16 finisher in the 100 Fly (5) and in the 200 Fly (14).

In the State Age Group Meet the MTV Girls finished 16th as a team.

Info Sheets for the State Senior Meet and State Age Group Meet have been posted on our web site. Remember both meets are in the Eastern Time Zone.

There have been some tweaks to the practice schedule for the final three weeks of the summer season. Please check the 7/21 revised schedule.

Coach Zoller will be gone from Thursday 7/24 until Friday 8/1 due to the State Senior Meet and the final Moratorium week. He will be at the State Age Group Meet in Columbus. Coach Loehr will be at all the MVJHS practices and Coach Boyer will be at all the Burdette Park practices.

In case of poor weather conditions at Burdette AM practices call Coach Boyer (219-765-4872).
If at all possible practice will still be held at Burdette.

All State Senior and Age Group State Entries have been updated.

A reminder that, as scheduled, there will be no PM MVJHS Friday practice.
There will be a Saturday AM practice at MVJHS from 8-10.

There have been some practice schedule changes for the next two weeks. Please check the updated schedule for those changes.

What a great meet the MTV swimmers had at Seymour. We had over 75% personal best times. New MTV Long course records were set by - Erika McCormick (2), Michea Reinitz (3) and Jacob Poole (5). No team points were kept so there were no high point awards.

Coach Zoller will be gone from 6/29 - 7/7 due to the IHSAA moritorium week. Coach Boyer and Coach Loehr will be covering practices.

26 new MTV Long Course records were set so far this season.

VINCENNES MEET

From Vincennes regarding some timeline changes and other activities.

** Remember Vincennes is on EST. **

Friday’s timelines have not been changed. Saturday & Sunday warm-ups will begin at 7:30 to 8:30 with the meet starting immediately at 8:30 a.m.

Sunday morning is a bigger session and will cause the afternoon warm-ups to be delayed approximately 15 minutes. At this time and tentatively, warm-ups for the Sunday afternoon session should start at 12:30.

At this time there are 13 teams represented and hope to have near 300 swimmers.

The following activities will be held.

· Coaches/Parent relay – enter as many teams as you like, cost is $20 per team entered, winning team will receive a coach/parent relay trophy that you can proudly display, relay will take place at the conclusion of Saturday morning session, 200 medley relay!!

· Hoola-Hoop contest – boy and girl winners receive a McDonald’s value meal, winning mother will receive a free manicure, and winning father will receive a Starbucks gift card, cost $1

· Dunking Booth – throw 3 balls at your choice of anyone from the crowd that agrees, cost $1

Vincennes plans on having a Saturday evening social from 7 – 9 pm. There is a live band (BAD MEDICINE) and light show for all ages, swimming and the water slide under the lights, and our concessions will be open as well. Cost is $5 for children and $7 for adults. Should be a great time, public is welcome and encouraged to attend! The band plays mostly cover music from the 80’s to today.

Training Trip

We had a very successful Training Trip.
We visited seven Universities: Louisville, Tennessee, Warren Wilson, NC Willing ton, Charleston, Georgia, and Emory plus we had a trolley tour of savannah. We all had had a lot of fun working hard and making new friends with Southeastern Swim Club.

Updated training trip info

FYI
Coach Zoller is staying at the Howard Johnson - Louisville Airport for the Louisville Meet. The rates are very reasonable ($65) and it is about as close as you can get to the Lakeside Pool and the University of Louisville. Reservations can be made directly throught the hotel 502-363-9952. I actually got a little cheaper rate by calling direct.

Did you know the MTV went to Florida to swim a meet?

The Austin's attended a swim meet in Destine, Florida a part of their vacation. Coach Zoller entered them over the internet in the Sand Dollar Invitational hosted by Emerald Coast Swim Club.

Caitlin best finish was 6th in the 100 breaststroke and had a :03.07 drop. Ma Kayla best finish was 7th in the 25 fly with an improvement of .13.

On Jasper Meet time from JAWS

Jasper is on EDT not CST as put in meet info packet.

Warm-up time for the morning has changed to 8:00 EDT instead of 7:00 EDT. Afternoon warm-ups at Noon on Saturday and 11:30 on Sunday. Our afternoon session is much fuller than the morning session!

A reminder from Coach Zoller that there will be no Friday afternoon or Saturday morning practice for the Senior or "M" team due to the Jasper meet.

"T" and "V" team practice will be held as scheduled at MVJHS on Friday afternoon.
